FME Workbench open ASC file: APIC.DLL was found but could not be loaded


Hi

 

FME Workbench doesn't work on one of our computer. He crash when a user try to use à ASC file. We has been try to reinstall FME but nothing change. On all other computer FME work fine, and they are all install with the same package. If anyone have a idea :) Thanks.

This FME edition does not recognize the ‘APIC’ reader. Please ensure that the current platform supports this reader, the reader name is spelled correctly, and that you have installed all required plug-ins

I think that there could be two issues:

1. The format is not supported in 64bit; or

2. The format requires an additional license or installation and that specific lincense/installation is not present on the computer.

Looking at the standard supported formats, there is no Apic Exchange Format (ASC) in FME. That makes me think that option #2 is most likely.

We can open the same ASC file in FME Workbench in any other computer with FME.

It's the same file, same Windows environment, same license server, same FME installation package.

We can open the same ASC file in FME Workbench in any other computer with FME.

It's the same file, same Windows environment, same license server, same FME installation package.

I would suggest to look into the differences between the installations on the computers.

Other aspects you could look at:

- FME license checked out by the computer

- Installation of a Custom format
