Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I posted the Flavour of the Month winner, so today we have two winners: one for November and one for December.

November

The top 10 list for November was:

  • david_r: 1792
  • takashi: 1541
  • erik_jan:1140
  • jdh: 735
  • redgeographics: 422
  • danilo_fme: 330
  • mark_1spatial: 225
  • gio: 170
  • 1spatialmary: 165
  • larry: 153

Remember, the winner is one who is in the top-10, with 100+ points, and hasn't won this award before. This makes the November Flavour of the Month: @mark_1spatial

Congratulations! And a big thank you on behalf of everyone for the efforts you put into the group.

December

The top 10 list for December was:

  • takashi: 1421
  • david_r: 1348
  • erik_jan: 700
  • redgeographics: 652
  • sigtill: 515
  • egomm: 465
  • 1spatialmary: 450
  • 1spatialdave: 425,
  • jdh: 425
  • danilo_fme: 339

With revesz close behind with 315 and runneals with 271.

So congratulations to @sigtill. Having also won the FME holiday hackathon, it was a great month for him! Maybe the Hackathon votes helped propel him to the top of the list, but I know Sigbjørn does great work with FME and is well-known to most of us, so I've no hesitation in proclaiming him to be Flavour of the Month for December 2017.

Flavour of the Month Winners

The full list of winners is now:

@takashi, @david_r, @jeroenstiers, @jdh, @itay, @gisinnovations, @erik_jan, @redgeographics, @danilo_inovacao, @cartoscro, @mark_1spatial, and @sigtill

I also wanted to take the oppotunity to wish you all the best for 2018. For FME'ers, I think it's going to be a great one!

Mark

Well I think I grabbed that with quite a low score given the esteemed people who have gone before me!

Given the restrictions of within the top 10, and how consistently active most of the top 20 are, we'll probably run out of eligible candidates fairly soon. Have you considered relaxing the "hasn't won this award before" to "hasn't won this award in the past year"?

(Yes that will mean that Takashi is always the January flavour of the month :) )

I did think of that - but the system we use only lets me award the Flavour of the Month badge once. So as soon as we start running out of candidates I think I'll retire that badge and come up with a new one (and maybe a new scoring system!)

Sounds like I need to pull my finger out then. Does seem to be a case of always the bridesmaid and never the bride with this one.
