Apply "Max Feature to Read Per Feature Type" to all features listed in Feature

Original Title was: Apply "Max Feature to Read Per Feature Type" to all features listed in Feature Types to Read.

Max Feature Types to Read applies to the feature types on the workbench canvas. So if you use Merge Feature Type (and only have one feature type on the canvas) then that will count as only one feature type. Say you set Max Feature Types to read to 2. If you use Merge Feature Type, only two features are read instead of two features per feature listed in the Feature Types to read parameter.

Max Feature Types to Read should also be applied when Merge Feature Type Filter is used along with the Feature Types to Read.

I agree that this should be developed. On an intuitive level, the " Max feature to Read Per Feature Type" implies that the reader should only read up to the supplied number regardless of weather or not the readers is set to merge. It is strange to me that this function will only work with "individual feature types" applied when adding the reader. That basically makes the option identical to the "Max Feature to Read" by virtue of the fact that it has no other option when "individual" is selected. This dependency is not properly documented and is counter intuitive.

Is this being addressed in FME 2019?

In FME 2020.0 this does not seem to be addressed as well.

Love this idea. It would certainly help to create better generic workspaces.

So, I just want to copy the data structure from one database to another database using a dynamic setup, by just copying one record of the source database to the new database (of another type, of course). I have to wait for every complete table in the database to be fully read before the workspace finishes. The option to select just one feature per feature type would have been VERY handy.
