When right clicking an object on the workspace canvas, you could publish disable/enable as a parameter. Then you could control the flow of the workspace and Readers/Writers straight with published parameters, and I wouldn't need to use filter transformers.

This or something like it would be quite useful. In the five years since it was created, has anything similar been added to FME? It seems like it's always improving!
I'd like to be able to set a user parameter on a workspace that will indicate that it will run in "test" or "write" mode; in the test mode, I'm looking to disable three writer feature types, all with multiple data flows from multiple change detectors.
I believe I've achieved my intended purpose with a junction and TestFilter per writer, but I see value in the original idea.
