Duplicate on Writer always enabled

It would be very nice to have the option 'Duplicate on Writer' always enabled, even if there are no writers present. I cannot think of a faster way to add a writer. Currently the option is greyed-out if there is no writer available in the workbench.

Just to clarify: what you'd like is that 'Duplicate on Writer' is always enabled. If there is no writer, then FME would pop-up the Add Writer dialog?

Seems to me this is the Generate Workspace option in the Getting started screen.

Partly. Very often you are much further in the process and you just want to add the writer in your development process.

 

 

This is indeed the best option. At first I was thinking it should directly create a writer of the same kind (that could be the default), but showing the dialogue would be better.
