Delete a park
Author the Workspace
- Open FME Workbench and continue with parks.fmw
Open the properties of the TestFilter that provides the ‘Get parks’ port and add a new port.
- Else If:
fme_server_extra_url{0} attribute is missing (Negate) AND _FME_SERVER_REQUEST_METHOD = DELETE
then:
Output Port: Delete a park - Connect a TextDecoder transformer to the TestFilter’s ‘Delete a park’ port.
- String to Decode: fme_server_extra_url{0}
- Destination Attribute: _name
- Connect a AttributeCreator transformer to the TextDecoder.
- Attribute Name: fme_db_operation
- Value: DELETE
- Attribute Name: fme_where
- Value: name = '@Value(_name)'
- Connect the AttributeCreator transformer to both:
- the Cloner that connects to the PostGIS writer feature type and
- the AttributeCreator in the ‘Return a message back to the client’ bookmark
- Add a bookmark around these TextDecoder and AttributeCreator and label it Delete.
Workbench Testing
In the Navigator
- Set FME_SERVER_REQUEST_METHOD to DELETE
- Set FME_SERVER_REQUEST_URI to https://<host>:<port>/fmedatastreaming/webservices/parks.fmw/Vanier%20Park
- Use Run > Run Workspace to test the workspace.
- Inspect the dataset to see that ‘Vanier Park’ has been deleted.
Create the Service
- Publish the workspace as before.
Use the Service
Open your REST Web Service testing tool:
- Select HTTP DELETE for the method.
- Enter the URL and append the token (note: include the spaces between Tea and Swamp and Park):
https://example.com/fmejobsubmitter/webservices/parks.fmw/Tea Swamp Park?token=95259e3c5270a7f02d8a92137c5b269fa7ba023c&opt_responseformat=json - Submit the request.
- The result should be a JSON message indicating success.
- Verify that ‘Tea Swamp Park’ was deleted by getting the parks from the web service:
