Welcome to the "Tableau: Spatial Analytics Made Easy with FME" Course Resource Center. Here you will find your class materials, connection information for Online courses, and other resources that you may find helpful both before and after your class.
We will be using Amazon AWS EC2 "virtual machines" for the exercises in the course. There is a virtual machine for each participant in this course. The virtual machine contains an installation of FME Desktop 2016, FME Server 2016, and all the sample data required.
Use Remote Desktop Connection software to connect to your virtual machine. Remote Desktop Connection is pre-installed on most Windows operating systems. For Mac OS X, you can install "Microsoft Remote Desktop" from the App Store.
Please click here, and follow the instructions to request the FMETraining.rdp file to connect to your virtual machine.
Please try connecting to your virtual machine least 12 hours before the training course start.
The password for the virtual machine is provided in the course confirmation email sent upon registration and the day before the course starts.
If you cannot connect to your virtual machine, please refer to the readme.txt file in the ZIP file downloaded from the link above.
When you are done testing your virtual machine, simply close Remote Desktop--do not log-off or shutdown the instance.
Want to review something covered in the FME Desktop course? Our FME Desktop On-Demand class is a previously recorded class, available any time at safe.com/training/
If you need the sample dataset for all FME Desktop training materials, download it here. Please unzip this file to your C:\ drive.
*You do not need to download the sample data unless your instructor tells you to (for example, if you cannot connect to your virtual classroom).*
